Marianthi (Maro) Kaliviotou

Maro Kaliviotou holds a PhD in Law and serves as a Scientific Associate of the Scientific Council of the Hellenic Parliament, within the Parliament’s Scientific Service. She is also a practicing lawyer, specializing in Constitutional and Administrative Law.
She obtained her LL.B. in 1999 from the Faculty of Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she also completed two postgraduate programs in European and International Law, and in Public Law. She earned her PhD at the same institution with a dissertation titled “Parliamentary Oversight: Constitutional Framework and Limits”, which was awarded the highest distinction cum laude, accompanied by a recommendation for publication and funding.
She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos) and the Council of State, and has been a member of the Athens Bar Association since 2002.
She has lectured on Constitutional and Parliamentary Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as at other higher education institutions.
She is fluent in English and German.
She has a substantial body of academic publications, including contributions to edited volumes, peer-reviewed legal journals, and collective works, in both Greek and international fora.
