Elena Zitouni has an outstanding legal knowledge and experience in the maritime field. She is highly qualified in Maritime Law, having developed advanced professional expertise in shipping and yachting areas of practice, offering comprehensive legal advice to national, European and international Clients.

Elena is specialized, among others, in ship building / sale and purchase of vessels / leasing agreements, charter-parties, ship management contracts, ship finance; in the registration of ships and private pleasure (as well as professional)  yachts in national, European and outside EU ships’ registries, in maritime liens and mortgages, bills of lading, in matters relating to ship agency services and crew employment regime, sanctioning proceedings, marine pollution, navigation accidents, insurance claims. She has also extensive experience in Corporate (Company) Law and Banking Law.

 Elena was awarded the LL.B. Hons Degree by the University of Hertfordshire in U.K. She completed her Masters of Law (LL.M.) in International Maritime Law (Dissertation title: “Economic loss arising from oil pollution matters”) at the University of Wales, Swansea, U.K. She has worked at a renowned English Law Firm, focusing, mainly, on English Contract and Business Law. She practices before the Court of Appeal and she is a Member of the Piraeus Bar Association since 2009.

 She speaks English and Italian.
